Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I hardly run my beloved Blue/Yellow Grande because it's doing tiny blobs. It spiked fine, melted & began doing this...

It's been running for nearly 6 hours & hasn't increased in size or speed, just blob...blob...blob.

I'd applied aluminum foil to the cap, hoping to increase the goo size, no result.

I changed the bulb to a 75 watt flood, it just sat melted...

I put the 100 watt back in, tiny blobs. This lamp has only been run a handful of times in the last 3 years, never more than 10 hours!

When is it time to drain & get a goo kit?

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

The blobs have doubled in size here at the 10th hour... plenty hot, used pot holders to move the globe earlier ;D
Has anyone attempted to just add an extra coil, while a globe is hot?
I've started her late today, 11am. I'm thinking of wrapping her in a towel for a good 4-6 hours, once she's molten.
The coil will have to wait for now, but I'm leaning toward adding one. What size, make do you guys suggest?
Okay, I put my towel on her for about 3 hours yesterday, it really improved the flow for a couple hours. Then golfball sized Blob...blob...blob. So I put the towel back on for an hour & enjoyed the column & goo balls for the rest of the night.
Today, I've had the towel on for 6 hours, checking it's progress every couple of hours. It's a huge column, small blobs around it. I figured it was time to let it flow... till I can put in a new coil.

Astrobaby, I never thought of a plastic bag, thought it might melt! I'm gonna have to try that!
Thanks for the tip, now I need some on prying the China cap off! DOH!
