Grande flea market find

So Keith, here is what I found this weekend lol.

The guy wanted $40 for it and really didn't want to budge. I told him that was to much. I said $35. I said if you want that much enjoy taking it home with you. He said $30 and I said deal.

The liquid is very clear. The globe has the usual air bubbles here and there and some small incursion or inclusions (whichever is the right word).

The guy said the globe did not come off the base. He swore by it. I said then how does one change the bulb. He said "I don't know" lol. I give it a little wiggle and all is well in the world. Bottle came right off :)

There are a few tiny places where it looks like wax smeared on the interior but it's so minor unless you go up close you can't see it. I wonder if the heat over time will melt those.

So, I am pretty happy to have a working lava grande and now have to decide if I want to make my other cleaned one into glitter or sell it.

Tribble, thanks, I made a typo, after I said no to $40, he said $35 at which time I said enjoy taking it home, then he said $30 at which time I bought it lol.

Oh something I did notice and not sure this is particular to grandes but there is not one bubble in the wax, which I notice seems to happen more on smaller lamps.

Nice!  I think your on the right track about the bubbles in the wax.  Not that they can't or don't form but they remain small compared to the wax globs that they don't show up.

By the way, I would read the cap code as June 17 2004.  Others may want to give their opinion.

Keith, if so, same year as the other grande I have that I emptied and cleaned, that would explain the similar bottle quality, possibly. Interesting on the bubbles for sure
