Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Ok, here's one for the pros, lol!!!  I have dented lamp bases that I want to redo cheap and without too much effort.  I was thinking of some sort of heat resistant wrapping to cover up the dents.  Something I could also do on the cap.  What do you think of this?  Comes in a multitude of colors, and is fire resistant.  I could pick up some heat resistant glue, and crepe paper my bases.  Or would this be too flimsy.  Just a thought???

I have no idea if this would work. I don't see why not, but it's not something I have any experience with. I have some bases that I would like to wrap. This sounds like a great idea to me.

I think this might be even better cowmatian:  Vox's suggestion
