help with a dimmer switch

Hi Guy's,

 

Can anyone tell me how to add a dimmer to my lamps, I am definitely finding out about temp control!

 

I need to know what type of dimmer to use and how to attach it.

first is this for one lamp or many? is it external? Or do you want to wire it in? What lamp is it for?
