I am assuming that you don't like the lamps that are being made in China these days? - lol
I would agree except LL's recent 50th Grande lamp that was made in China is as good, if not better, than any vintage Giant I have seen.

I have not seen these 50th anniversary Grande lamps in person, but honestly, after years of having decent expectations from this company I totally gave up. Ive had a bunch of china lamps in different sizes and colors that had to immediately go back and the Heritage Grandes arent all that IMO, neither was the rest of their heritage line. Some flow pretty good, most are a complete dud.
Nothing compares to my blue/white Giant flow-wise. But if anyone can post a nice quality 2-5 minute video of one of these new 50th anniversary Grandes flowing I may consider it xD
I had totally given up on LL as well but I am glad I decided to take a chance and purchase another of their lamps.
Maybe I was just lucky to receive two crystal clear great flowing 50th Grandes?
Their flow reminds me of the vintage clear/red Giant that I used to own.
"and the Heritage Grandes arent all that IMO"
Then why is the Neon Pink Heritage Grande listed as one of your Favorite lamps on your profile page?
I've had the same experience. Though the flow was great on my Heritage Grandes, both ended up with gunk in the coil/wax.
I, too. have given up. If I do buy the occasional new Lava Lite, more times than not, I'll return it.

My 50th grande is my best-flowing lamp. My colossus flows better technically, but is way less reliable. Both are made in China. EVERY other Chinese lava I've ever owned has either only flowed well for 2-3 runs, or never ran well at all.
The Heritage grandes definitely fall into the "2-3 runs" category, though I was able to fix them by adding a 2nd coil.
USA lava is the most reliable. There were better production runs than others, and factory defects happened, but on the whole US lava is a sure bet.
That's why ya'll need to check out my custom color changing lamps I'm in the process of building. See my thread:

Heavy duty hand built steel bases, custom made bottles, color selection controls, heat control, and more.
i agree that the heritage grandes are nice lamps. can't speak on the 50th grandes since i don't own one. it seems that the grandes are the best 'post-china' lamps from LL.
My 50th Grande is a great lamp!... BUT I still like my Giants the better!
Bill. I did get a Rainbow Grande for Christmas. However it was cloudy!! So they sent me another and again the replacement was cloudy but the flow is really good! The lamp was purchased from Amazon which was shipped from Lamps Plus way out in California!!
