Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I’ve had this lamp for about a year. I run it just about everyday. The lamp flows nicely. The chunk at the top bothers me. This is a 90s Lava Lite Midnight Series 17”. I use a 40w frosted appliance bulb, as per manual.

Yes. Looks like normal lamp flow to me. 

Normal, the surface tension of the fluid keeps the wax "stuck" at the top.
