Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

So the aladdin on ebay just went for 525, and it supposedly had bad wax. However it only had two bids. Does that mean the value of these is has gone way up, or it was just a unique situation?

Does anyone have a lamp collection they have insured?

It sounds like an anomaly to me.

it sounds like someone has more money than sense to me since several not so great lamps have sold for astronomical prices lately.

Lately, lamps have been going for way more than they used to. I have no idea why.

Apparently there's a new lava and glitter collector out there named "Andre" who has very deep pockets. If you see a lamp going for some crazy price, chances are he is the buyer.

Deep pockets is one thing, but I almost feel bad that he's paying that much for lamps. However, the only reason they're going that high is because someone else wants them almost as bad as he does, and is willing to pay the price.

this is tempting me to sell more lamps, but on the flip side it will likely cost me more to buy new ones.

Or someone has seem him WAY overpaying for lamps and is running him up, I see it at live auctions all the time.

This is for MR. MONEYBAGS who bought the lamp, with bad wax, for $525. Since you have so much money to burn, I will goo kit your lamp for $250, and that's a great deal ;>) ;>) HAHAHA

$525?! lol wow I you sure this wasnt a case of shill bidding?

I think BIG OIL has cornered the Lava Lamp market. First it's $3.80 for a gallon of gas, and now this, $525 for a lamp. When will THEY stop?!?! LOL

Yep, I've confirmed this. I had wanted to know who the mystery bidders were and it didn't occur to me to check the seller feedback and look for the member who left the feedback for that item. BINGO - now you know who your bidder is. I mean, there's nothing else to know, but now I know who I'm up against instead of o***c!

Having looked him up on Toolhaus, he seems to get aggressive for small indiscretions and attacks people, not someone I would be willing to sell to. Seems to by mostly games, or did at least.
