Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

New member, and not a big lava lamp guy so I don't know all the ins and outs so bare with me.

My first lava lamp was a Lava Lite black lamp with black lava. Got it at Spencers I think. Worked well enough for a couple years. Then I had to move. It ended in a shed enduring a couple winters. Well, having to move again I've gotten it out and gave it a go. Lava wasn't quite flowing right, but I didn't think much of it. Just tried running it a couple times here and there. Thats when the accident happened.

Moving stuff around and knocked into the table the lamp was on. It was on and the contents got shook up pretty bad, rolled around, and after nearly burning my hand trying to get it... rescued.

Now it really doesn't flow right. And, it has wax all over the top inside of the bottle. Tried taking pics on my cell phone to show it but my card reader on the PC is being a butt.

Big glob just stays on the bottom, a decent chunks lives at the top after it heats up... but not much else. Waters pretty clear, but it just doesn't wanna behave right.

Any suggestions? Or is it truly dead?

Also, my mother found her old Lava Lamp. An Century, Brass with red lava yellow liquid. Really nice, seems to have survived better then mine has. She left it on for too long though and the light bulb blew. Haven't been able to get another bulb to see if it's still ok though.

Yeah, the black one is sealed by a bottle cap. Not really looking forward to opening it up and fiddling with the contents, i tend to make messes or screw up till I learn the way. >,>
