Lava duration???

Mathmos says that lava duration is 2,000 hours. Does that apply only to Mathmos´ lava? Does lava from other brands last the same? What about vintage lamps?

I was wondering if Mathmos "secret ingredients formula" was just to shorten the lava life to 2,000 hours.

But you should not take this too serious.
I and manny other people are using bottles, which have more than 5000 or 10000 hours of runtime and still work.
Maybe its not like on the first days of use but still good.

Doubt that the formular has been altered to reduce lamp life, Mathmos haven't changed there formular much lamp life depends on how often and how long the lamp is run and where it's stored I.e. If by a window
