Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Ok i'm trying to fix a cloudy lava lamp. I replaced the original liquid with water, soap, and salt water for some reason it was trouble separating, and i eventually add to much soap and have to start over. Here's a pic of what it does almost all the time its at full heat. If you guys know whats going on please let me know!

To be honist the flow is normal but I can see why this would get boaring.

How much soap have you added - too litle soap may be the issue.
