Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

How long should a lava lamp take to really get going? Do the different sizes take different times? I just bought a red/clear china lamp that I really like--seems to be of good quality, but it takes 2-3 hours before it really gets moving...

norally 1-3 hours some larger lamps take longer. Also depend on room temp and where you place your lamp away from drafts. the china lamps sometimes take longer because they work from a higher temp.
