Until you can test the voltage, Joanne, wrap both of the bases up in thick towels and see what happens.

Good idea, Libby!

Maybe I got lucky but mine still runs great. I didn't run it much on the original base though. You all might have better luck clearing up any issues by running it on a different base.

That is freakin' awesome!

It's beyond freakin awesome, Kirk!!!   I had to wipe the drool off my chin........

My heritage lamps flow best on their respective bases. The v1.0 flows flawlessly for days on end on it's base, I tried it on other bases and works fine too.

The 2.0 globe though definitely needs to be hotter to flow properly, it flows nearly identical to the 1.0 but not when the room temp drops to 70F and under.. Which leads me to believe that the v2.0 have denser wax. I've used an infrared thermometer on both the v1 and v2 and the v1 flows with less heat, if both are dimmed to maintain the same temperature (but not too low to cause the wax to harden again) the v1 flows while the v2 shoots peas. The wax is denser in the v2, so it require more heat to expand the wax more and reach the same flow as the v1 does with less heat, the v2 wax cools completely flat and while both lamps are at the same temp one shoots peas while the v1 is hot enough to flow perfectly..

I don't understand why they made the wax denser, they should've just modified the sockets to bring the bulbs closer and kept the formula and amount of wax identical. It's not proven beyond any doubts yet but I'm almost positive that the v2 wax is slightly denser than the v1.

OK its 76 in my living room and I have had the base of my neon green wrapped for almost 4 hours and it FINALLY did something other than the 'pea shooter ' ! come on this isnt right . the lamp has been on since yesterday !

ALL it did was form one FAT column and then almost all the wax is at the top i take the towel off and its back to little pea shooter bloobs !

Has anyone else checked their voltage yet?
