Congrats on the lamps, Bill!  They look awesome.

I've been running the Heritage Grande neon green along side the 52 oz neon green, and you are right - the Heritage is better color and better flow.

Oh, and the green is NEON the 52oz neon green is drab in comparison.  If any of you have a neon green 52oz lamp and like it, you are going to LOVE this one!

Bill, I'm glad yours are good! Awesome news!

It was already hot when the pea sized blob appeared, Rodrigo.  I use that "gently spin" trick on my lamps when the wax comes off the coil.  It won't work on the Grande, that spot of goo is over halfway up the side.   I also don't really want to try to tilt it that far over for fear of doing something worse to it, and the lamp is near as big as me anyways.  I'm just hoping a big blob will brush it off soon.  Yes, you can see it across the room and it's freaking me out. LOL   You might as well give up on that Century.  I've tried everything I know to do short of opening it up, since last Friday, and nothing helps.  That 60W bulb was the only thing that finally melted the wax and stopped it sticking, but over half the goo floating on top is not attractive!   I've written that one off.

You can let it get really hot, then set the globe down on a table and spin it gently without letting it vibrate or move much, you just wanna spin the globe on its butt so the wax on the side gets pulled off the glass, usually that works for me, sometimes it leaves a pinhead size bit behind but its much better than a pea sized glob which is visible across the room lol!

My century has been on for about 7 hours, its not sticking but all the wax stays up top, i know if i dim it itll just harden, theres like no sweet spot on these. Also the globe is just barely warm after 7 hours when after 5 any other base gets it pretty damn hot.

Definitely don't like the looks of that, Erin.  But I also don't understand why it has not done that before now.  This is all getting too much to handle with this happening to you and now my green neon with a pea sized blob of goo sticking on the inside of the globe.  It's never done that before either and I've run it several times.

Here's a video showing it: http://youtu.be/jgKJY73Xp7g

It took my green over 8 hours to start flowing, Bill.   They are very slow starters, but worth the wait.......so far.

Erin,

I think it will be fine.

FYI, after more than three hours I still have no spikes LOL!! Both lamps look close to a wax flip though. Man these heat up slowly!

I hope so. The dust is concerning though.

I emailed Susan this morning and she promptly replied that she'd replace it.  Her response was short, like she was in a hurry. I think she may be a bit overwhelmed.

Thanks Kirk! Is LL taking care of your prob with yours? Oh, and I emailed you too.

Yeah i think so too, i meant to email about returning my century but i keep letting it get too late and then i just dont do it. Ill give her a few days to deal with some of the load shes got. Im sure theyre getting alot of complaints on the centuries..

Yeah she replied very briefly this morning then i emailed her back saying my concerns and the concerns of you guys and she wrote back a huge email saying that she is super overwhelmed and frustrated cuz supposedly the 10 lamps they have there arent overheating or having any of our symptoms yet she said the lamps are now on 40w reflector instead of incandescent. So its a little annoying that they are shipping these things out without fully knowing what bulb to put in them. Shame

ah!  that makes sense regarding the reflector bulb.

i made a makeshift heat ring with aluminum foil and now my r/y century is flowing somewhat better.  there aren't as many spheres, but some wax still hangs at the top.  i'll post a video later.  the ring surrounds the bulb and helps keep the heat close to the bottom of the globe.

In this picture, all of the Centurys ("Centuries"?) except for the white/blue ones, have a ton of lava at the top of the globe...just like what we're seeing.  How can they say they're not seeing our symptoms?

I will say mine does flow "better" with the r16 40 watt bulb in it...but its still not right.  Still too much wax at the top.

Yea the only ones that looks like they are working right are the blue/white ones.

The blue white lamps look to me like they spiked and that's when the pic was taken. I'd say there not hot enough yet, just spiked.
