Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi everyone!  I'm trying to improve my consort.  It is original bright orange wax and the flow is so slow and boring.  I have had to empty the original liquid and use salt water.  It has a 15 watt light bulb in it. It feels luke warm to the touch which made me think it could use a 25 watt.  All I had was the round 25 watt.  I have emptied the salt water and put regular water in it and with the 25 watt it just seems so hot.  Is it ok with that bulb and is there anything I can add to the wax to get smaller faster bubbles?  I've redone several Mediterraneans and had great luck, why is this one so different??
