I'm so glad you grabbed this, I thought you'd love it. In all my years of shopping, I've only seen one or two of these in person. As well as a few unlit ones.

This lamp is really neat. I do have a question though, is there suppose to be something covering the rest of the acrylic base so the light does not leak out AROUND or is it normal to be open? I turned it on and closed up the base where I thought it should be closed up and it make the sculpture look brighter and much better.
Not sure if I am missing something or not. Just thought I would get opinions.
I honestly don't know. I think it was as-is, but if the sculpture comes off the base you could make a bit of thin black tagboard to cover unwanted zones.

Interesting. I decided to give it another go in figuring out how to get to the bulb. The bottom wood base is a tight fit to the faux metal wood top. However persistence paid off. The base finally came out. Exactly like the ad states, there is a red disc held in by a simple metal ring clip. It's all so simple, it's pretty ingenious. The disc is nothing more than thick colored plastic. Stage gel but thicker.
I could have sworn the light itself was red. Guess not. The light is clear and there is a colored disc in there. Very interesting.
