Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I tried chaning just the liquid from a very cloudy 32oz that was faded.  That wax was still good and had pretty nice flow.  I figued I just put in new distilled water with some surfactant and I'd be good to go.

Unfortunately, that's not the case.  The wax, while melted, does not even go up.  It just stays like a calm ocean on the bottom of the globe.  Is there something I'm missing?  I heard that salt might be needed, but I only have sea salt and aquarium salt.  Are those any good?

Water and surf wont be enough try adding some dissolved Epsom salts about 2 table spoons to half a pint of DI water and add bit by bit until it flows.

You could also try adding some propane glycol (PG) - this is the preferred option as it doesn't cloud when off like salts tend to

I haven't tried pg but people on hear have and it has seemed to work.
