Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I have a lamp that is driving me crazy.  Once the lava has flowed for about 6-8 hours it starts to get tons of bubbles in the wax. It' looks so gross.  When I turn the lamp off all the bubbles eventually are gone and it settles at the bottom normally.  So, they aren't bubbles that are stuck in the wax since they go away each time I turn the lamp off.  I realize running a lamp for too much more than 8 hours could be pressing it, but all my other lamps run for about 12 hours in a day and they don't do this./
This lamp has had a lot done to it.  I've dyed it, I've added perk to it, I've added wax to it.  What I want to know is could there possibly be too much perk.  It took an awful lot of salt to get this lamp to flow.  Could too much perk cause bubbles?  Logically I would think there's not enough perk and that could be causing the bubbles, but that's not the case with this lamp.
Any suggestions?

I've got one that does that!

It's not air bubbles, it's liquid in them. I'm not sure what causes it, just that they do pop & eventually disappear with time.
I wish it could be fixed, it looks like a mess after a while! Oh well. Thanks for the response! Btw-love watching the progress on your fading the globes!
