Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to give you a heads up that the Magma Tower website has been redone. Also, the gookits.com website will be getting a make over soon as well. We will start selling the kits straight from the website. The ebay store will still be up during the transition but will eventually be taken down.
Any advice and/or criticism is always appreciated. We want to make everything as easy and user friendly as possible for you guys.
Thanks,
Jonny

Sorry to hear that. I'm hoping to rectify all the issues that have been going on as of lately. It's gonna take a little time but I think I will be able to whip everyone/thing into shape.

I'm going to be honest with you...I'm glad there was a shakeup over there. I have had HORRIBLE problems with MT lately. :(
Kim will still be running the day to day operations.

welcome back! are kim and lizette still with MT? just making sure who I need to contact for support in the future.
All of the patents on the new technology have been issued. The spectrum will be our first product with the "bulb-less" technology and we are hoping to have it commercially available in 3 months. It will still have an LED "bulb" to control the color of the light but the light source will no longer be the heating mechanism.
We intend on getting into the market of smaller lamps in the future but for now the spectrum will be the smallest. It will be about 3 feet tall.

Johnny, what about the lamps you had previewed that dont need a bulb?

also, are you ever going to develop normal size lamps at all for the general consumer market, like lamps that would be around the range of the lava lite 32 oz and 52 oz range? Im insanely interested in your products and new technology, but I would love it in a smaller package that would fit with the rest of my collection :)
As long as its affordable for the average joe then it should do very well as far as sales go.
Balancing quality, innovation and price point is a tricky deal. We hope to keep the price reasonable but are aiming for a lamp that will last a lifetime.

Do you have a price range you guys are shooting for?
They sent my orders to the wrong house...no kidding...6 times. One time they even sent the replacement to the wrong place. Then they blamed it on fedex. :-/
I also never got a quart of goo that would run in a grande. I tried three times.
Other than that, green and blue dyes that won't turn purple would be great. I have like 6-7 tubs of dye that I can't even use. if people order blue or green, I have to tell them I can't do it, and that's just dumb.

When Critter posted this thread (http://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/cool-new-lamp-coming-soon) the price he had indicated was $399. Probably a decent rough estimate on pricing, but who knows what the final tab will be.

3 feet sounds nice :)
As Dr What said... do you have any price range? 100...500...1000$ ?
I am also very, very interested in the Spectrum lamp. :)

I sense I am not alone on this one, so its update time. Jonny, please oh please give us some more information on the Spectrum lamp. We have heard about this lamp for quite some time, but its not been available as of yet. In asking, I do hope that you will place my name at the very top of the wait list - I am ready to pre-pay/offer a down payment today!

I have no complaints. Good service, good product, and prompt delivery.
MT wax (mixed with LL wax) restored two of my Colossus lamps for crissakes!
I've had some issues with both service and quality of MT and their wax. Not horrible, but I've had stuck wax around the bottom of the globe on several lamps, huge bubbles in the wax, "mold" of some sort growing in two of my globes and one really late shipment from MT.
I think I've placed three orders total and haven't been back due to the quality issues. I know results have been mixed over the years and it depends who you ask.
I by no means am trashing MT, just stating I've had issues. I do wish you and MT success and really would like to buy one of the Spectrum lamps.
