Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi,

Could anyone tell me when Mathmos switched to only producing 'lipped' Astro bottles?

These have a small stepped lip near the base of the bottle.

I have just bought a bottle from Mathmos for my old Crestworth Lantern but the newer lipped style doesn't seem as stable as what I would call a standard Astro bottle and the lip is visible above top of the Lantern base.

I had previously thought these her only used for Mathmos Heritage bottles but looks like they are now the only Astro bottle style.

A few months back Scott for the Editions/Heritage bases, mine sit snug on the older aluminium and copper bases too, I don't own a lantern so not sure about that.

I am quite sure Mathmos has changed the design of the globes slightly I think its down to there new bases which have a ledge in them so the globe sits without being slightly loose.

They should work fine with the older bases but I don't know about lanterns they probably didn't test the new design on a lantern base.
