Midnight model number

So according to the lava library, the model number for midnights is 8400. However, the screw cap blue and white midnight I just bought has model number 8100. It's September 1989. Just wondering why it's different.

I just bought a white/blue Midnight dated April 1991 and it, too, has an 8100 (Enchantress) sticker. Just call it a nifty factory mix-up.
