try letting it settle for a few days then cycle it till you see improvement. it may not ever be totally clear but it should improve. if you want it totally clear you will probably have to filter it.

I've had two of these lately. I just ran them for 8 or so hours a day for a couple of weeks and they both cleared up nicely. I think this summers heat did some major damage to new globes during shipment. At least it seems temporary though... Good luck! :)

Iv'e had american lava lamps just as cloudy as this recover by cycling it very often on a timer. I think it was 3-4x a day. 

The china formula does not recover. 

However if this has a dented base, it shows that it was mishandled, probably in shipping,  and it should be returned from where it was purchased. There is no need to absorb the cost of a damaged product.
