Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

i have the filter that everyone on here recommends. now i'm going to filter into a gallon milk carton, so do i cut the opening bigger to accommodate the bottom of the filter or remove the plate on the bottom of the filter that unscrews and just make sure i'm lined up correctly

cool. thanks for the tip. i'm using a virgin plastic milk jug that i got at the grocery store

do i have to clean the filter between each filter job?

I used a plastic cup to hold some fluid for a day or so and the plastic melted into the fluid which made it cloudy. I would avoid anything plastic. Just my two cents.
thanks,, what should i use then? a new glass fish bowl?

And what filter would that be?  :)

You mean this?

Yikes! its $90 !!

I could go into the lava light filtration business ;)

So you can filter one Grande w/o having to change/clean the filter?

Is this the MSR unit that Marcel is talking about?

How clear can you expect a really cloudy purple/yellow Grande to get?

I will clean the filter after doing 1 grande or 3 of the 52z globes. Unless the globes are really bad then I will clean after each one. What happens if the globes are bad the filter becomes clogged and the pump action becomes harder to deal with.

Any update on your filtering project?

I am wondering how it went :)
