Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I thought I'd start a post on neat / rare eBay lava and glitter sales. Sometimes it's nice to remember the sale of a really cool or hardly-seen item.

Please only post completed/closed eBay auctions - please don't post any open sales!

I'll start off with the Princess wall model lava that sold tonight. Anyone here get this? :)

If you post to this thread with a completed auction, please try to include a screen shot, not a link. After so many months eBay removes auctions and for historical purposes, it'd be nice to see what sold.

That's the same thing I thought last night when I saw the other one sell so high.  The seller who did the BIN instead of letting their auction go through is probably kicking themselves in the butt today.  LOL

And today the seller is sobbing if they saw the other Florence auction end.  The BIN cost them $1000 +.

There was another triple Florence Art (green) that was up and down before you could blink. I bid on it, my bid got cancelled (I know why) and it was ended. Someone contacted the seller and offered them a price off eBay. Happens all the time.

Me neither Dr. I've never understood the glitter thing.  I've bought two glitter bottles in all of my collecting days. One to fix a crappy mini clearview so I could gift it to a little girl, who loves her purple glitter clearview by the way.  And the second one was sent off to another forum member here.

This is a neat lamp but it needs wax!!!!  LOL

I just saw one of these go for over $2000?!?!?!? like really? I dont get it

Erin,

There are certain lamps I will give thousands for but it is not one like this that is for sure.  The kind of lamps I'm talking about hold gallons of liquid not ounces.

I don't either. I'd never spend that kinda money on a lamp. But to each their own.

I watched this auction as well.  I thought.. cool, looks nice, old and unique.

I never expected this to happen.  Are they really that rare they are worth

this much or do some have more disposable income than I do ?

Either way, I'll keep a lookout for them ;-)

It would be really nice to find one in a thrift store for a steal, eh?  You never know.....

They are only worth as much as a person is willing and able to pay.   That person is NOT me.  I'd have to live in a cave if I spent $2000 on a lamp, no matter how lovely.

I think I know which lamp will be the next one to sell at a skyrocket price :-)

I'm sure many of you saw the listing of this ultra rare lamp (no link as it is not over yet)

^^^ Oh yeah ;)

Astralav is right. Probably Tim's Colossus.

Oh no.

The lamp I'm talking about is much more scarce, so it makes a Colossus mundane!

Hmmmmm I figured you had to be talking about Tim's Colossus because it's getting so high (higher than I expected).

If it's not that then it must be a glitter because I never look for glitter lamp sales.

Critter

I think I know exactly what you're talking about ;)

We'll see.

I'm watching it, but I won't bid, out of my reach.
