That looks like a proper silver Wizard base and cap, but I'm pretty sure that the glitter globe is from a newer lamp. Lava Lite has been experimenting with painted globes recently.

Alex, I was thinking the same thing. But the pattern of colors are different between these two and I don’t know if the patterns vary on the painted globes or if the pattern is the same on them all. 

Their "hand-painting" is not a very good quality and some variation is noticeable on all of those kinds of globes. They had a similar problem with the rainbow painted Grandes. The lighting may also be affecting the way it looks.

Oh I see.  Well the seller wants $45 for the Wizard with the painted globe. Is it worth that much? I’m meeting in Person so no shipping costs.
