Hey everybody. It's been a while since I've posted on here. Probably a year or two lol. Anyway, I need some advice on a lamp. I purchased this lamp from eBay brand new end of August. It's a USA made Aristocrat and flows beautifully. Only problem is the seller shipped it sideways during some very HOT weather. I ran the lamp twice, then let it sit in a cool space for about a month. I noticed very little improvement and began running it. I've ran it about 4 times now and it doesn't seem to be clearing up.
In my past experience, leaving a lamp in a cool place for several months has worked. I also know that some lamps just never clear up on their own, especially the China lamps. Does anybody have any advice on what I should do. I do not want to open the lamp up at all. I am not experienced with that and have ruined a few nice lamps in the past. I am thinking of running the globe through the dishwasher a few times to see if that helps. I know the liquid will get super hot and the wax will not move.
Thanks,
matt

I would suggest setting it on a timer. 8 hours on and 8 hours off continually for a couple of weeks and see if it improves. Or if you don't want to have it running while away at work, run it daily when you are home for 8 hours. Of course if it gets really overheated you would want to turn it off.
My best flowing 52 oz LL brand is a mid 90's of that same color, so it is worth trying to clear.
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I have pretty much been doing that. It just doesn't seem to be clearing up. I don't know why. I ran the globe through the dishwasher and didn't notice a difference. But I won't give up, I'll keep running it as much as possible.

I was gifted a Mathmos Astro, it arrived cloudy (shipped in cold weather). It took months to clear but it did clear completely!

Running it through the dishwasher can't hurt it right?
I know VixenGypsy recommended that technique, I haven't tried it myself. Might be just the thing for globes with stuck wax, lol.
welcome back, matt! good to see you. i agree with keith - keep cycling it. it may take a few weeks for you to notice improvement.
My safari cheetah black/clear came cloudy as hell!!! I was about to give up on it, the clearing was so minimal that it seemed like nothing was happening but then all of a sudden it was clear!! Took about a good 3 to 4 weeks honestly.
Thanks, Brad. I know patience is key.

Yeah. I had a 1994 blue/white globe that took about 3 months to clear; however, it still hasn't cleared 100% and its been 2 years now lol.
