New 10 Inch Motion Lamp Problems

I just received a new 10 Inch Motion Lamp from the US. I let it run for about 6-8 hours at a time and I can't get any motion into it. The wax at the bottom melts and becomes liquid but it just won't rise. I looked at the coil and it is right at the bottom (is that where it should be?). Is it getting too hot, or not hot enough? Any advices on what I should do?

I attached pictures ... it won't do anything more than this :( I was really excited about my first lamp.

i have this same problem with mine. what it did was just made one blob and just floated around. what i did was i popped the top off carefully and added a drop of dish soap. tightly replaced a beer bottle cap onto it and it worked like a charm!

it is sad isnt it? i have bought several that were like this. its very frustrating. i just made my first lamp and have gotten better results! now thats sad! lol
