one large lava lite lamp work and another large dont...why?

hi all

 

I got two large lava lamp from lava lite

 

the (1) yellow wax and blue and another (2) is yellow wax and purple liquid.

 

when I run the (1) the wax break up in ten minutes the the big blub sink to the bottom... and nothing append...even if I let the lamps ON for 5 or 6 hours. there s only a big blub on the bottom of the globe.

 

the (2) work well, after 1 hour and a half... all motion is ok.

 

Since it s the same size, I try to exchange the globe and the base.... just to see if it was not the light bulb that cause the problem.

 

after the exchange... same problem with the (1) globe and the (2) work well.

 

it was not the light bulb...

 

I also noticed that the globe is a bit oval ... a little space of 1 milimeter between the globe and the base... there s probably not enough lost of heat in the little gasp that could cause the problem...

 

what do you think...I dont want to scrap the lamp (1)

it s not the big grandes... it s the large size 16 inch.
I ll try the trick.,.. but I really think that s the wax inside the globe that cause the problem.

each lava lamp has his own personality!!!
I also own 2 Grande 27 inch and I can let run the purple one only for 5 to 6 hours because it became really hot . and all the wax make a big blub on the top!!! (by the way... this lamp is really beautyfull after 3 hours) and a lava green that I can let run running for 5 DAY... and I work perfectly. No big blub. One day I ll try to switch the globe ... just to see if the green one will become hot more rapidely.
