I had originally thought that we had more time, but on the local news this week, they said 100W are no longer being made and then there will be a gradual phase-out in the next two years. I've read many conflicting reports on the ban vs. phase out.
My questions are this: Can anyone find a definitive timeline for which bulbs are being phased out when? AND, what about all the little specialty bulbs...will those go, too?
I don't like CFLs or LEDs!
I'm taking inventory and seeing what I should buy:

its the government you'll never get concrete answer until its already passed lol.
Autumn what did you pay for that box of bulbs?
I bought them as a one time offer from a friend here. I paid around $50, not sure of the exact amount anymore.

I will check my Paypal transaction history. ;-)
Dr. What - from my house, head east to the light, take a left, then go a couple hundred feet. Boo Yeah!
Not many left though, as I took three cases for myself and sent a case to Autumn. Case of 25 bulbs was $31.25 and shipping bumped it to $45.10. Inflation hit Autumn as I got my 3 cases at $1/bulb.

I didnt want to tell everyone OMG JIM HAS GIANT/GRANDE BULBS!!! and then have you get spammed. Oh on a side note I pulled one of the bulbs out of the box and noticed something really funny. The bulb had broken perfectly around the metal screw part and I was able to slide the glass cover off of the bulbs filament. I had a real good laugh at the oddness of it. Otherwise thats the only casualty, the few I have pulled out still have not burned out.

I will gladly trade 100 watt R20 bulbs for an Imperial. Bring on the spam!

Well as it urns out after ordering a couple to see what they are the supra life is an acronym for phillips 100r20 in 120/130volt in a plain white. box So I asked about these pool spa 100r20 like Erin found and was told they are basically the same thing. so Erin's found the bulbs I would order depending on the shipping.
Right now I'm focusing on 40W and 60W for the home. I hate CFLs. :grumble:
OMG!!!! Why outa site bulb prices!!

Sure am glad we got O.O.G!!! and peopls buyin em like crazy.
CFLs and other fluorescent light bulbs contain a small amount of mercury sealed within the glass tubing. When a fluorescent bulb breaks in your home, some of this mercury is released as mercury vapor. To minimize exposure to mercury vapor, EPA recommends that residents follow the cleanup and disposal steps described on this page.
--Thanks for the big trade off, BIG Government!! Conserve a little energy, but endanger the lives of my family, pets and myself after we accidently break one of your energy saving bulbs that you are MAKING ME USE!! Not only that, but I'm responsible for disposing of YOUR CFL properly. I have to find a waste facility that will recycle YOUR BULB and then I have to take it there myself. Are you kidding me? No Thanks, I'll just stock up.
At most, CFL lamps contain about 0.0001 oz of mercury (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_fluorescent_lamp). While it is true that constant exposure to the concentration of mercury that would result from breaking such a lamp in a small room has been shown to cause some symptoms of mercury poisoning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_poisoning), the mercury from one bulb will dissipate far too quickly for that to happen.
I can't say I really like the thought that I may not be able to replace my Grande's bulb eventually. Completely phasing out most incandescent bulbs may not be the best solution, but I'm also not sure how else you could feasibly get everyone to switch.
