Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Question on a lamp guys......White Elek-trick......clear fluid/black lava?  I wanted an Elek-trick for awhile, but since I have a clear fluid/black lava already, I was kind of  hoping to find my first in a different color other then white.....Is this a find or do they pop up from time to time?

White is Princess model. Elec-Tricks came in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink; early ones were matte-finish, blacklight-responsive and all had colored lava in clear liquid, but later ones were glossy and had colored liquid options. I believe most of the glossy ones were just in red, purple, green and blue.

Good to know.  Person listed it as an Elec-Trick....no wonder why I thought it was rare, lol!!  Didn't think they came in white.  Thanks!!

Talk to Jim about Elec-Tricks too he has most if not all of them.  There is currently a White with Clear/Black on ebay and it looks to have an Elec-Trick box with it.  No matter what you call a white base 32oz lamp "Princess or Elec-Trick white" they make a really good looking lamp.  Go for it and swap the bottle!.

Oh here is a link to a color line up from the Elec-Trick Series box it appears that white was included too:

Looks like i'm not the only one looking on Ebay, lol!!!  OMG that is funny!!  yep, that's the one i'm looking at!!  20.00 bucks, white cord, not bad.  I figured on swapping the bottle out since I already have the clear/black china globe.  Looking at the purple swirl too to add to my swirl collection since I only have the blue one.  I like the green, but the blue liquid/green lava looks too much like my blue liquid/white lava that is in my Enchantress and my blue swirl already, but REALLY liking the purple and since my purple neon took a huge dump on me, am kind of missing my clear liquid/purple lava!!  I don't think hubbie is gonna let me go for the both lamps, especially since I need flea meds this month for all 5 of my dogs!!!  Hummm, god I'm sooo torn.........really am liking the white too, !!!!!  I need to go back to work.  Unemployment is nice but it doesn't fuel my lava obsession!!!  lol!!!

I just don't quite know how to distinguish a white elek-trick from a Princess. I have always considered them to be a Princess myself.  I do think both a midnight and white elek-trick/Princess would nicely accompany the Elek-Trick color bases.  Just not sure I have the room myself.

Wow, Critter, it amazes me how you guys remember this stuff!!!  When what was sold, what style, color!!!  I wish I were that educated where I could look at a lamp and be like, "yep, that's a such and such, circa, 1992, lol!!!!  Guess it comes with time and collecting, but I'm learning.

I may have to ask your opinion on something else.  Since it's under the same topic, there's a really nice purple swirl up for grabs.  One problem.  I know the base is an original, but the globe is saying china to me, not vintage!!!  You know how like the china globes have all those annoying, but depending can be sometimes nice, specs of light in them???  It's hard to explain, but you know what I mean. Okay, well, it has a lot of those and it looks kind of new to be the original globe.  Also, no pics of the cap.  Couldn't one unscruptuously switch a vintage base with a china globe??  I hate to think like that, but if I want a vintage lamp, I want a vintage lamp, globe and all!!  If I wanted to go that route, I would buy a base and stick my cheap china globe on it.  So I emailed the seller and asked if they could please send me some pics of the cap.  If not, then i'm not going to go with it.

Lava lamp globes of all ages can have the occlusions, the little imperfections in the glass that are seen as bright specks.  I have a few USA globes that have a lots of them although most have only a few if any.  I don't recall getting any china globes myself that have an excess amount either, although results may vary

My Neon Purple had a good bit of them, but that lamp had so much crap wrong with it, totally my fault though.  I ran that thing to the death!!!  lol!!!  b4 I knew better.  Now I'm a freak with how long I do my run times!!!  Sometimes those tiny specks can add to the lamp, but sometimes they can be a distraction!!!

These are interesting, lava monster eyes!
