Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi all, First off I'd like to say that this site is awsome! I've been going through the forums looking at topics related to issues of cloudiness on my midnights, two I bought back in 95' and some I bought recently off Ebay. My question is can they be rehabbed without opening the caps, and if I have to, what will I need to do to filter them besides using a water purifier? Thanks much

Ya, I had them off for several months, then in December I turned them on and both was cloudy. No one touches them but me so I was baffled... lol. I know these things aren't supposed to last forever, but I've taken very good care of them.
some of them may be getting too hot get a dimmer swtch in the first pic the 2 on the right look like they are going too fast
You guys are awsome for the input. I only use the 40w frosted, and my first two are the USA globes, the 03 and 09 in center. I just bought a digital timer so I'll have these lamps cycling at the suggested times. The green one I got last week... brand new still in the box, so it still is going through the break in. I have five more lamps not pictured, but the ones pictured are the ones I have issues with. All the globes have a perfect seal, the liquid level has never dropped, though the 03 does seem to have some residue collected near the top.
