Restoring midnight base, accidentally removed the shiny finish

I got a new midnight aristocrat today and it had a lot of sticker residue on it so I removed it with goo gone. I soon realized that I also removed the shiny finish on that whole area! Does anyone know a good way to restore the shiny finish on the lamp base? I would really like to make all of my midnight bases look new again.

I use Krylon Shiny Black for any Midnite. It matches the original finish. BUT, it's best to paint the WHOLE base & cap, just for a continuous look.
To remove stickers, 70 percent rubbing alcohol & a hand towel.
Bohdan you seem to know everything there is to know about lava lamps. I just tried using turtle wax since the lamp was still black it just lacked its shine. The turtle wax not only restored the shine but made the entire lamp look like new. It worked so well I plan on waxing all of my midnights. Thanks again! Oh I also tried WD40 and it seems to do the same thing but it leaves more residue than turtle wax.
