Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I replaced the liquid in my jet and i got the wax to flow up and down with a few blobs.. However it only makes blobs and no columns, so i began adding SLES to the mixture in very small ammounts. However my problem is that this doesnt seem to change .. It has changed a tiny bit to column shapes, but nothing close to what it was before. Its still mainly blobs.

Should i just continue to add SLES?  I think its allmost at the state where i have around 45 ml in the Jet which is allmost as much as i have in a grande !

Hmmm. I don't have an answer for you, but I'm going to jump in and watch. I have some SLES coming this weeks, so I'm curious to see what others say.

When I first added dish soap to my 60s Century, the wax did some really weird stuff, but it's just flowing regularly now.

I think it must have something to do with the wax of this particular Jet, as i've used it in other lamps where it has worked as intended.. But for some reason i cant get it to work with this lamp.. Maybe i just need much more ?

Not sure. I think that's what I might be facing with mine, too - different wax. 60s formula was different than 70s in the US, I believe.

Im gonna try swapping liquid with another jet i have which has excelent flow and se what this lamp will do ..

When applying SLES does that mix with the wax or with the liquid ?

I assumed SLES mixed with the liquid.
