Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

First a hello... this is my first post on here. Long time Lava lover, but new to the collector's club. Recently got back into displaying my lamps and buying some new/old ones.

Just bought a 52oz lamp from Spencer's yesterday and fired it up today. The box lists it as "vibrant neon" green lava. However when the lamp finally gets going, the lava is like a transparent green. Almost like a highlighter pen or something. Also, lots and lots of little air bubbles in the lava. Is this normal for newer lamps? My USA lamps never looked like that. They all have nice rich solid colored lava.

Some of the neon series have been like that, since the production moved to china the quality has not been as it was to say the least, the wax should go to a more solid colour after a fue good runs.
