Update/Change to the Mathmos US site -

Hey everyone..

I just happened into the Mathmos USA site today and noticed they are taking orders for the Telstar Rocket lamps and estimated to start shipping August 15th.

Color changing lamps are on the site too, but no price shown yet.

The Telstars are $140 on the US site and $107 on UK site.

They are over pricing it to the max . They should atleast bring it down to the UK price .

About time. And yes, their lamps are very over priced. So overpriced it is almost insulting to the customer. They need to automate some of their manufacturing.

This makes me wonder what the prices are gonna be like for the regular lamps....$100 or more?

And when the US made lamps come back into circulation, I wonder what their price point will be like?

The lamps lava lite will make in america will cost more, but not a whole lot. Definitely not $100+. Due to the huge gap in prices mathmos and lava lite aren't even in the same market so don't expect competition.

This is why mathmos is charging so much for their lamps "" The UK version is $110 converted. We are kicking off the Telstar in the USA with a special edition. Only 500 Available. Each one comes with a numbered hand signed certificate.""

A hand signed certificate is not worth the extra $30. The wiring alone is proof enough it is a made for the usa telstar. I think what is really going on is mathmos is trying to pass on their importing costs to their customers.

You know, I waited and waited and waited and waited for Mathmos in the US. It's been so long I'm going to offer up a big MEH to them. Their marketing and presence and customer service have been so lackluster I don't even care anymore.

How big is the globe? Is it a 32oz? I'm waiting for my first mathmos lamp but I kind of want an astro.
