Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

this is at a local store with a hold on it for me... but i cant quite tell if thats supposed to be a white lava / blue liquid that has the lava faded to a slight yellow near the base, or if this is the yellow lava / blue liquid one.... any guesses?

also, any guesses as to the year that this one was made?

ran for 4 hours on a frosted 40watt last night without coming off the coil. got intensely bubbly/foamy:

i turned it off for an hour and went to turn it back on again and this is what it looked like then:

tonight im gonna empty the liquid and boil the wax and see if that does anything. if that doesnt work, i think im just gonna empty it and refill it with a spencers neon purple since they are on sale right now.... anyone need some blue liquid from 1991? Ill send it in a plastic bottle or something if you pay shipping.

This one may not be worth the hassle of fixing.  I think you might be on the right track with boiling it.  Personally I wouldn't transfer from a new neon since the globes are the same size. I would look for a couple of smaller lamps to use for donor lava.  Oh, but get the purple neon anyway.  You'll love it just as it is. ;)

THey don't have the neon purple at the Spencer's where i live right now

Or, you could keep it as-is, bubbles and all, and just call it unique.

Lol that works =)
