Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I have two 1960's Lava lite's that do not work properly.  The goo does flow, it stays up at the top in a ball.  Does anyone have an suggestions as to what I can do to fix this problem.

Thanks Judy

try installing a inline plug-in dimmer.

It sounds like they are too hot

Good Morning

I'm not familiar with an inline dimmer.  Is that a dimmer switch?  Would changing the bulb lower than an 40 watt help?

Thanks Judy
