Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I guess like the saying goes "knowledge is power"!!  Here is someone selling a "vintage" lava with blatantly a Chinese cap!!  Am I right guys??  Just a week ago I wouldn't have known the difference!

LOL  Well for some the 2000's may be considered vintage....but not for me.  Looks like a Premier.  If you had any doubt...the one pic clearly shows the label on the base made in china :)

Good eye there newbie! lol  Like you said, you wouldn't have known the difference.  Most lava sellers (buyers too for that matter) on ebay don't know the difference either.  That being said, if they don't know it IS vintage they should not say it is.  But that doesn't bother me, what bothers me is when they say excellent condition with no reference to how it flows.  The crappiest flowing lamp out there can look "perfect" cold.  So no dents, ok; so the light comes on, ok; so it's clean and doesn't have imperfections in the globe, ok.  Still not enough to make it "excellent"!

I agree keith! I tend to look for sales where there are alot of pics or the seller seems like a fellow collector. Videos would be even better, lol! Ebay should start a policy. Lava sellers must post flow vids!!! Lol!!!
