Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I just got my Lloytron 30W Lava Lamp a week ago and for some reason the wax does not flow like it should. It just floats at the top of the globe for hours. I've tried leaving the lamp on for two days in a row now and it's still the same. What could be the problem guys?

Overheating is the most likely culprit. Try putting it on a dimmer.

Or a lower wattage bulb?

Must be an overheat situation.

What's with the wattage what?

Hi guys, thanks for your replies!

The bulb is 30W, and I've no idea how to install a dimmer lol. it's getting worse now since the wax that is floating on the top is beginning to get stuck there once the lamp is cooled :/ I'll change the bulb to 15W and see how it goes
