Wax or something stick on inside of glass ....

I can touch the outside of glass and it cleans it a little shut gets worse , am sure this is wax on the inside of teh lamp . Am thinking  maybe to open it when cold , take the water out and try and clean it , maybe I should take out the wax also . But then am worried the wax will still get stuck when I put the wax back . Maybe you guys and gals have an idea thx .
