Hi Everybody !
Recently i made this lamp with a home made globe and ceramic foot. Tank is roughly 80oz or 2,4L .Filled with Goo Kit. After a few runs (in this picture with a 100W bulb) i get this blob that is stuck at the top. And the rest of the wax flowing rather slow. Can anybody tell what could maybe be the problem ? Since everything is homemade i understand its pretty difficult to say what could be wrong exactly.

The wax looks half solid instead of liquid. The room temperature is probably too low, drawing too much heat from the globe. The globe is basically a narrow cylinder so it has a lot of surface area compared to contents. Also if there is any air movement in the room that can effect the temperature of the globe. Ideal air temp is generally regarded to be 70 to 74 degrees F.
You can try covering the globe with a towel or blanket (or long sock!) and see how it responds. But be aware that if left unattended for too long this could lead to overheating.

Thanks keith !! that is great advice . I am producing these in my studio and i it is here now 42 degrees F. I have an office space in the shop where its nice and warm . I'll put it in there to see how it performs.

Use a sock or towel, and make sure the top is open so pressure doesn't build in case of overheating.
(Although I find that a mild 1X overheating is necessary to melt the bubbles away)
Also, you might look out for in the future is the fact it is incredibly easy to get bubbles in the goo when pouring it into the globe.
Even though you almost will always get air bubbled "Floaties" needing to be removed, its best to use Magna Towers technique and pour with a funnel with a tube attached so there is minimal agitation of the goo.
Thanks Claude ! that is useful information. :) i was already wondering about the little air bubbles inside. Although i used the funnel with tube technique i do have some. i'll post some pictures of the finished lamp soon!!
