Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I just got back from Portland, OR. I wasn't lamp shopping, but on the way home I hit a vintage shop in Vancouver, and scored a large-globe double Florence Art (no center column, dark blue liquid) for $185-- they'd had it priced at $225. I'm trying to decide whether to keep it, try to sell it, or try to trade it. I really do like it, but what I do with it depends on what's out there.

Edit: Probably holding onto it for now. My mom likes it a lot, so it might go to her place for a while.

How exciting. I dream of finding Florrie Art at a sale or second hand store.

I've found singles a few times, all over a decade ago. This is the first really spiffy one I've located this way!

Glad you found something great. You wanted another classic for your collection.

I did, and for a while my budget dried up. I wasn't even thinking about lamps on this trip.

I already had a double, so I caved. Thursday night, I found out about the Mathmos Neo. "That's really cool, but I'll never get one. I'd have to import it... or find a collector who'd trade one." And the latter happened.

Chow now has a nifty Florence Art double, and I'm the proud owner of a spiffy copper Neo.
