Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I've been trying to find a recipe that will give me the exact components and measurements for the liquid in a 27" lava lamp, but I can't seem to find that.  Can anyone help me with this?

Just curious, how old is it?

Well, if itas a new one, Distilled water is all you seem to need

There aren't exact measurements.  Case in point, kero48 just replaced fluid in a new grande, while a few weeks ago I replaced fluid in an older grande.  We both used surfactant and distilled water but I had to use propylene glycol to increase the density of the water, which allows the wax to float.  That's why redoing these lamps is trial and error.

Correct Keith

I used @5 liquid cups of propylene glycol to make it float
Kero used none

I would like to add that last night I opened my brand new extra royal, emptied the original blue liquid, rinsed bottle several times leaving original wax in, filled with fresh distilled water and about 10 to 12 ml's of surf and the lamp works perfectly. Today I am going to adjust the surf down just a tad or maybe up a tad and take some video if time permits later.

So, this is the second newish lamp that works with distilled water and surf. Just some extra info the package is dated 2016.
