Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Whats with the lint and boogery things floating around?

I bought a green and clear 52 oz. lamp from Spencers yesterday. Waters clear as a bell except there is what looks like pieces of lint or some other loogie looking things floating around. Theres about 7 or 8 of them less than the size of your small fingernail.

Is this normal? Will it go away? Or should I get an exchange?

I also bought a red and clear and its clear and free of debris.

Your one of the lucky few getting clear lamps. As for the suspended stuff, run the lamp and see if it clears out. If not, swap it out at Spencer's.
Yeah I like the red too. I fired it up and it was up and running like a champ in about an hour. The green took about 5 hours to really get moving.
Have you noticed that there are two colors of green at Spencers? There is a light lime sorta green and then a darker "leaf" green. The darker green flows very nicely for a new lamp.

If your talking about the display ones, there is a new fresh lime on display and a faded lime which looks like an army/leaf green.
No, both of mine were new out of the box. One is alot lighter than the other. I will add photos.
The one that I just bought is the darkest. Very nice color actually, not that transparent crap that they have been tossing out reciently! However, the boxes are exactly the same....the picture on the box looks like lime green, so you may have to open the box to see what the color actually is.

Mines dark green. Totally opaque. Real nice color. The box pictured a lime green color though. I would definitely inspect a lamp before I bought one.
Weird. Not surprising though.

I purchased 2 clear/lime's - both are really lime colored. No issues so far other than I did have to filter the one I am using. Was cloudy.

Here are the two green colors from Spencers. Bought 2 months apart.

Well, the lint and boogers have pretty much disappeared. Just a few little pieces of debris but only noticeable if you're up real close. Guess it was some stray wax from mfg.
Well I had a lamp that had some lint looking stuff floating around also. This went away very quickly after runing the lamp for about 4 days.
