Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I am curious if anyone knows who has the largest fantasia collection? How would you conclude that? Would it be based on quantity of lamps or based on rarity of lamps? Perhaps both? What do you all think?

Thanks for the kindness Bohdan. I would love to have the title of "largest known collection". However, I don't want it if someone else has a larger collection. Hard because I don't know of many people with these lamps.

I think, last count for me is 13 lamps. Also, I am not tooting my own horn. I really want to know who has the largest.
You do.
Lol - Thank you :)
You should add them to your pictures, horn tooter...LOL!
I had them all there. However, I removed them all. Took me hours. I did not like the interface, slow/slugish and flukey. I moved everything over to my Flickr account. That way everyone can see them. You don't have to sign up :)
Hey Kris, i'm not casting aspersions here but people are starting to call you Mr. Fantasia!
Astro-

Bryin does not post much unfortunately. Would love to hear about his collection.

Alpha-

Lol - that is funny :)
Bryin's photostream has shots of most of his collection. He has: a ton of foreign glitters, a large array of Florence Art "Astro Lights" (oil glitters), some Fantasia fiber optics, a lot of "spaghetti lamps" (colored translucent 'spaghetti' formed into hollow, lighted shapes - most of his are on outlandishly awesome bases), cast-acrylic grape-bunch lamps, and lots of 50s and 60s kitsch. But I think your Fantasia collection may be bigger, Kris - how many of which models do you have, in all? Can you list them here?
Yeah, Bryin does have some amazing stuff. Lots of goodies! The spaghetti lamps are awesome too. I seem them regularly on eBay and would not mind having some, however I have to restrain myself as if I get too many "kitsch" items, it will just be too much. Amazingly I am showing control in this area :) Except for my Fantasia lamps. Everything else I pretty much stopped collecting - including lavas. Yes, I know that is heresy but I got tired of getting duds.

Anyways, my collection consists of the following.. from smallest to largest..

Glitter Graphics - Car
Love Bug - Silver, Boxed
Alpha - Gold, Boxed
Saturn - Gold, Boxed
Omni
Firefly - Boxed
Love Story - Black
Trophy
Centurion - Silver
Sunburst 4000 - Silver
Sunburst 4000 - Gold
Sunburst 4000 - Black, Boxed
Cosmos - Silver

There are some others that I really want. Like the glitter lamps themselves - Cosmic Window. Really would like the New Star too. Don't want to be greedy. There have been several I passed on. However, I could not be happier with what I have.

Still looking for that Ecstasy lamp. Lol. There have been a couple on eBay that I missed or passed on. Seems they come around often though. Once I get that one, that will "round out" my "spherical" lamp collection.

Kris, if you want to get some good lava, nab a few vintage lamps. If you've got your eye on one on eBay and you're wondering if it's a good lamp for the price, drop me an email (jcefoundit@gmail.com) and link me and I'll give you my opinion, for what it's worth. With Lava brand in the dump these days, vintage stuff CAN be a good buy - a tad more pricey at times, but quality wins out.

Jonas- I appreciate the offer, you are always great when it comes to info and help. However, it's really not a matter of good/vs bad lamps. I know I mentioned duds, but my "passion" for lavas is just not what it used to be. Especially after finding the Fantasia's. They are my lamp of choice. I don't need to filter them or worry about clouding, fading, coils, burning up or leaking. They just work. I might have to clean them or polish them but that's actually fun. I know they will be beautiful when they are done. Plus, they come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. Lavas are just one shape but different colors.

I love lava, just not that much anymore. I don't run any of the lamps I have which is stupid. Why collect something if you are not going to use them? Just seems like a waste to keep them in storage.

Anyways - which leads me to a message that I was going to post previously - if anyone has a Fantasia in good or great condition that I do not have and is willing to trade for lavas, let me know.
BTW - the Fantasia photo collection can be seen here..
