Hi,

Nice Windsor.  That model is kind of rare.  Typically in a given year (recent years) half a dozen or so appear on ebay and others will turn up from other sources such as you found.  In good shape, like yours ,they can bring $225-$250.  Yours having green wax is a plus as red/orange is more common.

There is a glitter Windsor on ebay for sale right now in similar condition and the glitter version is not seen nearly as often wax filled.  Keep your eye on that auction to see what it brings.  The wax version would not bring as much as a glitter version but you will get an idea of present value when that sale ends.

See the Lava Library (  http://oozinggoo.ning.com/page/windsor ) for a bit more info.  However, I personally feel the rarity scale of the Windsor (seven out of ten) is a bit too high I don't think they are quite that rare, but that's my opinion.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for all the info! I saw that listing on eBay when I was trying to research this one and have been watching. We purchased it for $40 and I thought we scored a pretty good deal.

You got a great deal at $40, in green! The liquid would have been a medium blue. You can re-tint it using liquid food coloring (do it when the wax is solid, and swirl it around after every drop so you get exactly the shade you desire), or leave it as-is which is fine.

So are you saying the liquid isn't origiinal?
Mary. The liquid fades over time especially if exposed to sunlight. A drop or two of food coloring can be used to give the fluid the original blue tint.

Indeed, it just faded. You can leave it clear, or tint it.

Mary. The auction has ended and now you can see a current relative value. Recently vintage lamps have been down in price over last year....but maybe last year they were too high don't know. Either way if you were to ebay your lamp today you would probably see a sale in the 200-225 range. If I were you I would keep it. My Windsor lamps are going no where. $40 was a great price for sure as you can see now. I bought one of mine last year for $25 on ebay with a buy it now sale.
