Xemu alien lamp

I have one of those xemu alien lamps and there is clumps of green at the bottom and on the alien I was wondering if there is any way to fix this or if anyone has opened one before if it is safe to open that way I can possibly filter out the liquid and take george out of the jar and give him a bath before putting him back in :)

well if you get around to it be sure to use distilled water because tap will get slimy too I wonder if you could use distilled water and food coloring the shop where I get my piercings has a xemu lamp and it has been there for years and it's as clean as a whistle I wonder how that one didn't get all cruddy
