Profile Information:

Something Interesting About Me:
I started OG in '97 to share information about lava lamps and meet others that share my passion for these funky creations. I'm married and a father of 2. We run a Silver Century in our house all the time, and I bring other lamps out from the boxes from time to time (but I'm scared of my kids sticky fingers!)
Where I Live:
Beautiful Albuquerque
My First Lava Lamp was:
It wasn't really mine, but my older brother got a big Century (red/yellow) from some chicks that digged him in high school - this was like '83 or something - Anyway, I kinda took it over. I have no idea where that lamp is now, I bet my brother sold it in an antique/ collectable booth he runs.

    Hi Mark, how's it going?

Nice to see you here online at the same time as me. I'm honoured. I'm still addicted to this site.

    See you soon

Thanks for your comment Mark. The feeling's mutual!

I love this site too and hate to see people verbally abused by these rogue 'members' who appear from time to time, especially when it's directed at your friend and mine, Astrobaby (Ant). I still can't help but think there are people here connected to that 'Mr Fourmile' person so I will be watching them very carefully. So glad you deleted that creep's evil postings and 'membership'.

    You're cool dude.

    Peace and Lava

Thanks Mr. Goo;-). I expected a lot more input from long-time goo-heads, and a lot of competition. I didn't even know what I was going to write until I was finished! I thought my poem would be humorous and get everyone on the ball. Thanks All!

Sadly yes, the cords of my PC still look like that. I keep meaning to organize them someday, but someday never seems to come. :)

Thanks for the welcome, Mark Goo. I'm working on a picture. Stay well. Hope you're having great holidays!
  • Orbitz

I did read something about it but I can't remember now, probably because the taste was so disgusting. I tried two of them at the time and was very disappointed. They made a lot of money though when they sold the name to their website, does that still happen? Seems very "90s".

    Hey Mark,

Almost every Haggerty lamp was made for use here in Germany. I have only one that was made in America and then had the cord changed to a euro plug.

Interestingly I've had a lot of success in obtaining Haggerty lamps here as most Germans think of them as cheap copies of the "Original" Mathmos/Crestworth lamps. So the Haggerty lamps are fairly cheap to obtain as opposed to the quite expensive Mathmos lamps.

    HI Mark!
I have been a louse, and did not thank you for the base. Anyhow, thank you!!!! This is what it was used to make. I still need to adjust the flow, but it is going to be so nice when it is just the way I want it!
    Again, thank you!

    Hey Mark,
Being a newbie here I was just wondering what etiquette rules or recommendations you might have for using this site - I wouldn't want to accidentally offend anyone!
Congrats on the growth of the site too - I've been lurking around for a few months and I'm really glad I finally signed up!

  • Woodvetch

too cool. I grew up about 25 miles west of Williamsburg. All family still there. Let me know when you're coming to town and if I'm in town maybe we can hook up for lunch or afternoon cocktail.
  • Galaxy_9

Congratulations on your winning the 3form contest. I get updates from them as I am a recent interior design grad. I was like, hey that's Mark Goo's entry! Good job.

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking around this site for a few months and figured it's about time I became a member.
Mutual funds and common stock are my areas of investment, not so much real estate. Hopefully, the markets will bottom out soon (Although I've been looking for that since last Fall...lol).

    Hey Mark,
I'd love to check out this new chat but I seem to be missing something extremely obvious - I can't find this "light grey bar" at the bottom of the page. I'm using firefox on a mac - would this make any difference? Sorry to be a total technophobe - hope you can help.
    Cheers Rod

I am but a simple man who likes to collect lava lamps. But I do have a question? what fomula is used to replace wax in genuine lava lamps. I found an blue liquid/white wax wizard 32 OZ that was shaken. I would like to replace the wax because the liquid is clear so how do i make the wax at home matt
  • Reszound

Hey Mark, I just read that the goo has grown to 700+ members! (I joined around the late 5's or early 6's I think, and that was only 6 months ago...) It's going ballistic! Congrats on a great site, cheers Rod
