Got my hands on another model 101 (green/red) Century from Lava Lite. Thanks to Bill for the confirmation and nudging on this one! I'd seen it on eBay, but wasn't sure if I should pull the trigger.
Of course, it has some issues - the wax won't stay on the coil and eventually just hangs out at the top. And the wax has that white powdery stuff around the bottom, too. So, lamp surgery will be in order soon. Liquid is pretty clear though and you can still see the green tinge to the liquid color!
This is my 2nd model 101 - the first one I restored (mostly), but wasn't able to use the liquid (but I still have it). I hope this one turns out better - I really don't want to screw this one up!

I have seen one catalog photo of a 101, and the liquid color is VIVID. Like, take the ink cell out of a yellow-green hi-liter marker, soak it in water... that color. The kind that has a glow in ordinary daylight.
Thanks Jim! I'm pretty stoked. :)
Nice score Erin!
When I first saw a hint of this color in an old ad, I knew I had to have one. I can only imagine what they looked like right out of the box, new, in the 1960s. This particular color combo is so hard to come by. Not only is it rare, but a lot of time they are so ruined that most people wouldn't want to tackle restoring them. Also, they can be so ruined (like in Bill's case) that no one knows what their original color *was*.
I started a thread on this lamp a few years ago and back then, no one here had one they could talk about. I'm happy a few of us now own them and have fixed them up! :) Here's the thread: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/century-model-101-was-there
The newer colour combo's are beautiful, but I will always have a nostalgic hankering for the originals.
I had him wait a loooooong time before shipping. Just got it yesterday and all is well! I'll likely seek your advice in restoring it - I don't want to screw it up! Thanks Bill. :)
Thanks! I'll be able to save the liquid this time, so I'm stoked about that! Just might need a drop of green. We'll see.
Green/red... nice find Erin, good luck with the surgery :)
