(Lava Chat) |
Hi all, been a long time.
I like to save factory wax after a restore if it's in good shape to use it on future projects. I'm working on a 20z lava lite with red wax. I used to know how to get factory wax flowing but I seem to have forgotten as I can't get the wax to stay at the bottom of the globe to melt. It wants to shoot to the top and stay there. Ive been trying Surf, with distilled water and a wee bit of Prop Glycol. It's not working. I know that factory wax is specifically designed to flow in whatever they make their master fluid out of, but I know theres a way to do it without factory fluid because Ive done it before.
If anyone has the knowledge I'm all ears. Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken you cannot get a lamp running unless you are using the new goo kits - magma kits - etc. Everyones on the hunt for how to make your own lava lamp and so far I've not seen once recipe here that actually works rather you're using factory or not.
I got the factory wax flowing and working pretty good using straight tap water and surfactant. For some reason the factory wax doesn't like distilled water, it has to be tap water. Thanks for your reply, but I got them working now!
