On the left: 2013 52oz. pink/blue "Premier" lava lamp from Spencer's. So far, so good. It looks pink/black most of the time and looks way better in my bright office than at home in my bedroom.
On the right: purple/"red" 52oz. Aristocrat from 2001. Most of the time, it does the lava column flow, but it's pretty.

No, the flow isn't always that good, but it's better than I thought it would be. I'd put it somewhere in-between good 90s flow and China flow. There are moments of "Oh, cool!" flow with the pink/blue. I definitely don't hate it. In fact, as of this writing, I'd say it's a cool lamp worth having. But, only time will tell if it's going to suffer from stuck wax or crap in the coil. Although with wax this dark, you'd like never see it.
Beautiful Erin! Is the flow on the pink/blue always that good, or is that the best from multiple pics?
